When I lived in Cyprus and was able to get very good deal flight ticket to Athens I went for it.
So far this was my first but hopefully not last Olympic games experience and I loved it. To be honest I managed to buy tickets on the spot for 2 events and managed to visit one but still the experience was fantastic but the highlight was all the activities around games but lets start from the beginning.
I managed to visit fighting finals and you can feel the energy and happiness when finalist just won gold metal! Fantastic! Second event for which I both ticket was canoeing but unfortunately I get lost on the way there and then gave up (for some reason this place was very far from city centre) and just later on I heard that Slovakia that day won 2 gold and 1 silver medals!
In the evening there were tents all around the city dedicated to each country in where you could celebrate wins of the day with people from that country. My most favorite was Dutch tent!
Looking forward for the next Olympic games.
