Vinales

This place just 4 hours from Havana gave us possibility to visit very nice Cuban country side as it is village very close to Cuban “jungle”. There is one main street where you can eat, drink and have a little bit of fun during night but Vinales you will not visit of it’s night live. What you can see are caves, hike in “jungle”, visit local farmers and taste & buy local cigars. The best way to explore surroundings is to get a bike or rent a horse but as we didn’t done any of that as we just rented a cab for 4 hours and in comfort explore it.

Santiago de Cuba

Santiago is large city with small city center and rest seems like village in the middle of Mexico but still the vibe there positive. We were rushing to get there to experience local carnival and we did it! The best way to describe it is like a very big party in whole of the historic city with people drinking local beer, dancing to the rhythms of salsa with huge parade happening on the main street. The local beer wasn’t that good but still you can get local rum in acceptable quality at very good price.

Camaguey

In Camaguey we just spent 2 nights exploring city, visiting local market, nice historic cemetery,  salsa club during night and just sucking all the local atmosphere.

Trinidad

It’s historic city with beautiful city centre and salsa everywhere. It’s worth to sit in a restaurant on the stairs close to the church, listen to a band playing next to you and just enjoy sunset with glass of ice cold beer. Around Trinidad you can visit Wally where just 200 years ago slaves was growing sugar cain.
